Tropical Grassland - Savanna
The African Savanna has a tropical grassland biome. In this biome, they have warm weather patterns year round. The winter season is cool and the summer season is very humid and wet. There are two distinct seasons, though: wet season and dry season. During the wet season, they get around 15-25 inches of rain. The atmosphere is very humid and hot. During the dry season, it is mostly dry but is still a bit warm. The average temperature is around 70°F. They get most of their rainfall in the summertime. During this time, the grasses and tress don't form a closed canopy, which allows sunlight to hit the ground. At lower elevation, the mean max temperature is 30°C, and 24°C at high elevation. They get most of their rain during March through May, as well as brief rain periods November to December. The mean rainfall is about 600 to 800mm annually. It is different from a desert because it has slight more vegetation than a desert would. It doesn't get enough rain to be considered a rainforest but gets enough to not be called a desert.
